Pim Techamuanvivit of Chez Pim (chezpim.typepad.com) is queen of the food-blogging world. She's interviewed frequently for features about food bloggers; her website spawned a book deal (The Foodie Handbook); she started Menu for Hope, an annual online raffle (with prizes donated by fellow bloggers) to raise funds to help alleviate hunger; and if that wasn't enough, her long-time boyfriend is David Kinch, chef of the Michelin two-star Manresa, in Los Gatos, California.
Her blog reflects just how too-good-to-be-true (from a food lover's point of view, anyway) her life has become. She assists at Manresa - in the kitchen and on the farm; helps host a parade of visiting famous chefs; tests recipes; visits top restaurants throughout the world such as L'Arpege in Paris and El Bulli in Roses, Spain; participates in community foodie events in northern California; and takes care of her cat (which has nothing to do with food).
Techamuanvivit was born in Thailand, and some of her more interesting blog posts have to do with her childhood in a wealthy family. She also occasionally posts Thai recipes - nam prik pao (chilli paste); pad Thai (left); and curry crabs. Her other recipes include a home-made version of Pop-Tarts; pork ragu; and salted butter caramels.
